SBCA is pleased to announce the November housing starts and building permit data is now available online! Below is a summary.

U.S.
November housing starts (released December 19) increased 3.3% to 1,297,000 units. Single-family starts increased 5.3% to 930,000 units, while multi-family decreased by 1.6% to 367,000 units. Total U.S. permits, an indicator of future construction, decreased by 1.4% to 1,298,000 units (SAAR).

Starts increased in 2 regions:

• Northeast (- 39.6%)
• Midwest (- 12.9%)
• South (+ 11.1%)
• West (+ 19.0%)
